About the Conference

BlueOcean Academy’s 4th International Procurement & Supply Chain Conference was held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on 29th August 2016, bringing together Procurement and Supply Chain professionals from all over the Middle East.

Built around the theme of "Sustainable Procurement & Supply Chain, Managing Risk and Powering Innovation" the conference focussed on challenges and the missing links in the international supply chain as the world shrinks into a global village. UAE is fast becoming the logistics hub of the world vying with Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Manchester for top honors. What the country needs today is a new generation of logistics leaders: dynamic, skillful, innovative and tech-savvy who can effectively bridge the existing gap between knowledge and infrastructure in the region. Excellence in Supply Chain means moving beyond costs and creating better products with minimum damage to the environment. Built on the theme of – “Sustainable Procurement & Supply Chain, Managing Risk and Powering Innovation”, the conference revolved around 4 tracks - Technology & Innovation, Strategy, Leadership and Supply Chain Excellence.

The conference brought together heads of Supply Chain and Procurement and important policy-makers from more than 400 companies from the Middle East and UAE in particular who have played a crucial role in transforming UAE into the leading supply chain hub. The one-day conference included keynote presentations, industry expert breakout sessions, product and tool presentations and numerous networking events.
