Eisa Ahmed Al Shamsi
Director of Procurement – University of Sharjah
Mr. Eisa Ahmed Al Shamsi is currently the Director of Procurement at University of Sharjah, where he is heading the Procurement and Contracts division.
Mr. Eisa obtained a High National Diploma in GSE Aircraft Engineering, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Master’s in management. He has also completed executive education leadership development programs with Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government and with Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania
Mr. Eisa holds Fellow membership from the esteemed Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).
In term of career journey, Eisa started in an Aviation industry then in Homeland Security followed to Tourism Sector and currently in Education having over the course of career gathered over 20 years of experience.
Possessing vast experience of working in the Procurement and Contracts division since 2007, Mr. Eisa has been a crucial part of international projects worth 1 billion annually. Key projects he worked on include Falcon Eye Security, Louvre AD, Qasr Alhosn, Bait Mohammed bin Khalifa, several mega-events like Mother of the Nation, Bookfairs, Shaikh Zayed Book Award, Art galleries, different Support departments projects etc.
Mr. Eisa acted as a change agent of Abu Dhabi Government’s main projects such as the Digital Procurement Gateway, Procurement Standards, Charter, Procurement delegation of authority and the Procurement manual. This also includes developing strategy, standardizing and digitalizing the whole procurement process under the digital procurement transformation program developed by the Abu DhabiGovernmentProcurement Office through representing DCT and being a member of the committee.
Additionally, Mr. Eisa led the AD Supply base development project to increase DCT procurements from AD companies and the implementation of the AD Local Content Program in DCT which direct government spending to motivate suppliers who have a high contribution to the local economy of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
One of Mr. Eisa’s biggest achievements lies in being the first Gulf National to have been awarded with the highest degree of Executive Diploma in Procurement and Supply. He is also officially entitled to use the designation of FCIPS ExDip Chartered Procurement and Supply Professional.
