Blue Ocean's 1st International Procurement and Supply Chain Conference was held in Doha, Qatar on 8th February 2014, bringing together Procurement and Supply Chain professionals from all over the Middle East.
Focusing on the important and relevant theme of "Evolution in Procurement: Challenges Ahead" the conference for the first time in the history of the Middle East turned the spotlight on the procurement industry and documented the changes that the industry had witnessed in the last two decades of rapid economic development.
The conference brought together procurement experts and heads of Purchase, Procurement, Contracts and Supply Chain departments from more than 200 companies from the Middle East and Qatar in particular to brainstorm on procurement competence and its whole new definition in today's market. There has been a natural strategic business evolution from purchasing to sourcing to strategic procurement to supply management in the last two decades.
The one-day conference included keynote presentations, industry expert breakout session, product and tools presentations and numerous networking events.
